The Osceola Virtual Academy is an alternative learning pathway open to Osceola 6-12 resident families who want/need something different than the traditional pathway. This pathway is a separate school where the content is delivered via an online content provider called Edgenuity. This is a full time, year long, option for Osceola School District residents only.

Osceola Virtual Academy was founded in 2020-21 and provides a 100% virtual learning experience for students. The District partners with an outside vendor, Edgenuity, which supplies the teachers and the content delivered to our students/families, is an asynchronous (flexible) learning program that requires 5-6 hours of online learning a day.
OVA is available to students in grades 6-12 residing in the School District of Osceola or who attended an Osceola School under open enrollment during the previous school year. No new open enrolled students are able to join OVA. We are no longer offering OVA for students in grade 5 or below.

Two key advantages of online learning are flexibility and convenience. However, online learning is a lot more challenging than it may seem. In reality, online courses require just as much, if not more, time and energy as traditional classroom courses. It also requires specific computer skills and learning strategies in order to succeed. Online learning transfers much of the responsibility of learning to the student. That is, students will need self-motivation, time-management, and strong communication skills in order to be successful.
