4K-4 Field Trips
Field trips are an important part of the learning experience for our students, providing opportunities to connect classroom learning to the real world in meaningful and memorable ways!
Each field trip is thoughtfully planned to align with grade-level learning and to ensure experiences are developmentally appropriate for our students. Whether it’s exploring nature, engaging with local history, or participating in hands-on learning, these opportunities are designed to support growth, curiosity, and engagement at every stage.
Below (not grade specific) are some of our field trips we experience each year:
- Pumpkin Patches / Apple Orchards
- Project Wild Rooted
- Minnesota Children's Theater
- St. Paul Children's Museum
- Science Museum
- Fawn-Doe-Rosa
- Wild River Boat Tour
- Como Zoo
We appreciate your support in helping make these valuable experiences possible for all students!!
4K-4 Chaperone Process - Field Trips
We value the partnership of our families and truly appreciate the support of chaperones on field trips. To ensure a safe, equitable, and positive experience for all students, we follow a consistent chaperone selection process across our 4K-4 grade levels.
Not all of our field trips require the additional support from chaperones, however, when chaperones are needed, communication will be included in the grade level’s permission slip form.
All interested chaperones must have a completed background check and meet district volunteer requirements. When the number of volunteers exceeds the available spots, we use a selection process that may include rotating opportunities among families, prioritizing those who have not yet had a chance to chaperone, and, using a random drawing to finalize selections.
Selected chaperones will receive confirmation along with clear expectations for the day, including supervision responsibilities and guidelines to help ensure a safe and successful trip. While we wish we could include everyone, space and supervision guidelines often limit the number of chaperones we can accommodate.
Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support in helping us provide meaningful experiences for our students!
