Seats Up for Election
The School Board has one seat up for election in April 2027. The seat carries a three-year term beginning in late April 2027 through April 2030.
Candidate Eligibility Requirements
To qualify as a candidate for the School District of Osceola Board of Education, you must meet all of the following requirements at the time of filing and throughout the term of office:
- Be a qualified elector of the School District of Osceola
- Be a resident of the school district for at least 28 consecutive days prior to the election
- Be at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day
- Not be currently serving a felony sentence in Wisconsin or any other state
- Not hold another incompatible public office during the term
- Register as a candidate in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes §120.06
Notification of Non-Candidacy
The 2021 Wisconsin Act 33 created requirements for filing officers to publicly notice when an incumbent files a Notification of Non-Candidacy with their office or if an incumbent fails to file a Declaration of Candidacy by the filing deadline.
For incumbents currently holding office, the deadline for filing a non-candidacy is December 28, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Notice of Non-Candidacy form. Click here

Spring Primary Election (if needed)
When a Primary Election is Required:
The school board shall require a primary election if there are more than twice as many candidates as there are members to be elected to an unnumbered school board of more than 3 members. Once there are 3 or more candidates who have submitted paperwork, a primary must be held.
Spring Election
The April 6, 2027, spring election will include two board seats on the ballot.

School district electors who would like to run for school board in the spring election must complete and submit the forms below and return them to the District Office located at 331 Middle School Drive, Osceola, WI 54020. All documents are due prior to January 5, 2027, at 5:00 p.m.

Write-In Candidate Information
Write-in candidate who would like to run for school board must complete and submit the form below and return them to the District Office located at 331 Middle School Drive, Osceola, WI 54020.
Primary Election: Friday, February 12, 2027 at 12 p.m.
Spring Election: Friday, April 6, 2027 at 12 p.m.

If one or more individuals register, only votes for those registered write-in candidates will be counted. If no one registers, all write-in votes must be tallied.
Registered write-in candidates’ names will not appear on the ballot. It is the responsibility of each registered write-in candidate to inform voters that they are running for school board. The County Clerk will provide a list of registered write-in candidates to municipal clerks, and election workers may share this information only when asked by a voter. Election workers are not permitted to offer the names unsolicited or post the list at the polling place.
